About PWG

This blog is dedicated to independent wrestling company Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. It’s all you need for PWG news, updates, trailers, screencaps, GIFs, reviews (new and old), quotes and much more.

First of all, please SUPPORT PWG!

www.prowrestlinggerrilla.com is your number one source for great wrestling. If you have never ordered an indie DVD before, take a gander at some of the STACKED cards they have on offer and place your order now. I promise you wont be disappointed!

PWG’s style of hard hitting, high flying action has been entertaining crowds on the US west coast since 2003.

The group is also well known for it’s unique sense of humour, most notably the (in)famous commentary featuring EXCALIBUR and a variety of PWG stars. PWG’s humour has been described as similar to that of CHIKARA Pro but much more explicit.

PWG presents some of the most renowned and talented wrestlers in the world, in monthly shows which usually take the form of supershows, showcasing a stacked card of must-see match ups of top indie stars. Current stars featured by PWG:

  • Kevin Steen
  • El Generico
  • Chris Hero
  • Claudio Castagnoli
  • Davey Richards
  • The Briscoes
  • The Young Bucks
  • Kenny Omega
  • Human Tornado
  • JTP
  • Willie Mack
  • Joey Ryan
  • The Cutler Brothers
  • Christina Von Eerie
  • Malachi Jackson
  • Many more.

Stars in italics are considered home-grown stars who have been established on the indie scene as PWG talent.

The company operates on the west coast, primarily in their home-base of Reseda, CA. PWG has been represented outside of the company in CHIKARA’s King of Trios tournament.

PWG’s annual events include:

  • Dynamic Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament (DDT4) - A tag team tournament taking place either on one night or a series of nights, with the PWG tag team championships at stake.
  • Battle of Los Angeles (BOLA) - A singles tournament usually taking place over a series of nights (although the 2011 BOLA was a one night event) featuring a variety of independent talents from around the country. The events have had some of the highest rates of attendance in company history as well as some of the most acclaimed matches (Chris Hero vs. Akira Tozawa was considered a 2010 Match of the Year contender by many).
  • All Star Weekend - A two night series with a stacked card featuring well known indie talents from other promotions, and PWG stars.
  • Kurt Russellmania - Part of the Wrestlereunion events series of events, these shows often showcase legendary wrestling talents, sometimes facing off with PWG stars. Notable appearances include Jake Roberts in his retirement match (you know, the latest one), RVD’s US indie debut, Jushin Thunder Liger vs. El Generico and a legends’ battle royal which boiled down to Roddy Piper and Terry Funk.
